Website

Tyson has been providing generations of families with wholesome, delicious chicken, pork, and beef since 1935.

Since Tyson is one of the largest producers of meat in the country, this app was designed to track food trucks that use Tyson protein products in their offerings (i.e. most of the food trucks in New York City). In addition to tracking the trucks, menus, and projected routes, the app had features to allow for discounts and coupons for both customers and food truck owners.

Process & User Map

Due to this being a proof-of-concept (later repurposed for other endeavors), observing how potential customers would actually interact with the app was very limited. To work around this, extensive research was conducted regarding best practices in multiple food/delivery apps (Foursquare, Grubhub, Yelp, etc) and determining what gaps we could account for and repurpose to the app’s advantage.

Layout Examples

The only visual restrictions that the Tyson folks gave us was the adhere to iOS elements and keep the use of the Tyson branding more minimal (the larger Tyson corporate umbrella was undergoing a rebranding at the time). To work around this, the standard Tyson red was deployed more often than not to keep elements distinct amongst the blues and grays of the iOS aesthetic.
